Your Duty

You must answer all our questions fully, accurately, and honestly.

Your answers to our questions will help us decide whether to approve your membership to the Fairness Institute of Australia. Each question we ask you is important.

Your duty to us.

You have a duty as a potential member of the Fairness Institute of Australia to take reasonable care not to make a misrepresentation to us.

Failing in your duty of the said disclosure may affect your membership status.

If you fail in your duty regarding full, honest and accurate initial and ongoing disclosure, we may at our absolute discretion, not approve or cancel your membership and may retain your membership fees.

If such action is imminent, we will discuss this matter with you first before taking any action and consider your current circumstances and explanation.

Your duty as a member.

As an approved member of the Fairness IOA, you are required to maintain your good standing consistent with your approved application.

If you situation changes adversely, you should contact the Fairness IOA and discuss your circumstances. Note that regarding criminal cases that only if you are newly convicted or found guilty of an offence or offences carrying a total sentence of 12 months or more of actual imprisonment by a court of law need to be reported to the Fairness IOA unless it is regarded as a spent conviction from the past.

In general Fairness IOA members are not expected to have a cavalier attitude to their membership obligations including the law. Please contact the Fairness IOA if you would like to discuss your individual circumstances with us. Any such discussions will remain completely confidential.
